Brain Sensing/Stimulation Projects
Our ability to interface with many parts of our body is very advanced. A pacemaker can sense signals from the heart and can provide stimulation in case of heart problems and artificial joints can provide people with new hips or knees. In comparison, our ability to sense activity in the brain, determine when this activity indicates abnormal function, and to interfere with the brain to correct the abnormal function, is still relatively crude. We are developing advanced brain sensing and stimulation technologies that provides a more accurate and stable interface with the human brain.
